Surya Namaskar, Meditation and Relaxation Sessions For Women

Surya is the Sun, and Namaskar is the traditional Indian greeting or gesture of respect. Surya Namaskar is a set of 12 yogasanas or postures done in succession, and expresses gratitude to the Sun that sustains life on Earth.

Though these asanas can be done at any time during the day on an empty stomach, the Surya Namaskar should preferably be done at sunrise.


Regular practice of the Surya Namaskar is beneficial to all - men, women and children.

When women take care of their physical and mental fitness, they get re-energized to function better in the real world. They feel more energetic and capable of handling stressful situations. This is, in fact, a great way to de-stress and release tension, besides getting fit.

Many women do not make the time to take care of themselves. Their excuse is that they do not have enough time - for themselves. I’m sure they have enough time to eat 3 meals a day. Why? because that is important to them. Why not make taking care of their body and mind important? It’s time they gave it a thought. Or else, it’s like saying one doesn't have time to stop at a petrol bunk to fill petrol, because one is too busy driving!!!
